Andrew J. Peters

Peters & Nolan, LLC

Attorney Andrew J Peters is a founding partner of Peters & Nolan, LLC. He focuses on representing individuals who have been injured in auto, truck, motorcycle, bicycle, and pedestrian accidents, as well as dog attacks, slip-and-fall incidents, and assault cases. Throughout his career, he has represented individuals, families, and businesses harmed by the negligence or wrongdoing of others. His dedication and advocacy have helped secure millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients.

With more than 26 years of legal experience, including over 24 years serving clients in Western Colorado, Andrew has built a reputation as a skilled and effective trial attorney. While attending the prestigious University of San Diego School of Law, he participated in his first civil plaintiff's jury trial, helping secure a substantial verdict for his client in U.S. District Court. Before co-founding Peters & Nolan and serving in the District Attorney's Office, he worked as a class action plaintiff's attorney for a large civil litigation firm in San Diego, CA.

Andrew also brings extensive criminal defense experience to the firm. Having handled thousands of cases, he has represented clients facing charges ranging from DUI and drug trafficking offenses to white-collar crimes and complex homicide cases. As a former Mesa County prosecutor, he developed valuable insight into law enforcement procedures, prosecutorial strategies, and courtroom dynamics. This background allows him to build informed and effective defense strategies for his clients.

A tenacious advocate in the courtroom, he has conducted more than 100 jury trials along with countless bench trials, compiling an impressive record of success. In addition to his legal practice, Andrew has taught Criminology and Criminal Justice at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction and has lectured on legal topics throughout Colorado. He has also served as a legal commentator and consultant for ABC, NBC, and CBS News on both criminal and civil matters.

Although he has lived in Fort Collins, Boulder, Telluride, San Diego, and Scotland, Andrew was raised in Grand Junction, graduated from Fruita Monument High School, and has called Colorado's Western Slope home for more than 40 years. He remains deeply committed to his community, volunteering as an adult mentor, serving as chairman of the board for the Mesa County Partners Organization, and guest lecturing at local schools and colleges. He also supports numerous local nonprofits, charities, schools, student organizations, and youth athletic programs through ongoing donations and community involvement.

When he is not advocating for clients, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He is also an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys biking, hiking, boating, and skiing.
